Veiled and Then Unveiled

2 Corinthians 4:6 - "For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness, " is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ."

Just prior to that Paul told the Corinthians that the good news of Jesus Christ is veiled to those who are perishing. Satan has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Jesus Christ is the exact representation of God Himself. God is the One who shines in our hearts, giving light to who Jesus is and what He has done to accomplish salvation. Just as God commanded physical light into existence, God creates supernatural light in the soul, making unbelievers believers, bringing them from the kingdom of darkness into His kingdom of light.

Do you understand that you are a sinner? According to Romans 3:23 all have sinned and fall short of God's glory. Do you want forgiveness of your sins? Romans 6:23 says the cost of our sin is death, eternal separation from God, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 3:3 says that unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Do you know why Jesus came to die? To pay the cost of sin. Do you see Christ for the Treasure that He is? That He is God, that He is Lord, that He is the Savior of those who call upon Him for salvation? Romans 10:9 says if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Do you believe Jesus died on the cross for your sin and rose again? Do you desire to turn from your sin and surrender your life to Christ? 2 Corinthians 5:15 says He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf.

Friend, that is the gospel of Jesus Christ. That is the good news concerning Jesus Christ. If it makes sense to you, turn from your sin and call upon Jesus as your Lord and Savior. God has shone in your heart His glory in the face of Christ! God has removed the veil so that you can see Jesus for the Treasure that He truly is!

God's work in you and your joy in Him has only just begun!
