Isaiah 66:1-2/John 14:23

   ISAIAH 66:1-2
   Thus says the LORD,
     "Heaven is My throne and the earth is My footstool.
   Where then is a house you could build for me?
     And where is a place that I may rest?
   For My hand made all these things,
     Thus all these things came into being,"
   declares the LORD.
   "But to this one I will look,
   To him who is humble and contrite of spirit,
     and who trembles at My word.' "

We need to have big thoughts of God, really, really big thoughts...and a proper view of ourselves in relation to Him.  This great and awesome God is mindful to the people of His creation but we are given a condition or prerequisite for this to happen.  It is with the person who humbles himself before God, in one whose heart is tender and broken over their sin, and takes His Word seriously.

JOHN 14:23   Jesus answered and said to him,
     "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word;
   and My Father will love him,
     and We will come to him and make Our abode with him."

The one who takes His Word seriously and obeys it, is one who loves Jesus.  The Father loves the one who takes Jesus Word seriously.  Here then is a most staggering truth.  The great and awesome Godhead will make Their abode, will rest, with the humble, contrite, and obedient.

Let that fill your heart with wonder and praise this morning...
