By the Word of the Lord...

"By the word of the LORD the heavens were made,
And by the breath of His mouth all their host.

He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap;
He lays up the deeps in storehouses.

Let all the earth fear the LORD;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

For He spoke, and it was done;
He commanded,
and it stood fast."

Psalm 33:6-9

Jesus made the heavens and all the heavenly bodies, simply by speaking them into existence.  "Let there be an expanse."  So waters separated and sky appeared.  "Let there be lights in the expanse."  And lights appeared.  Sun.  Moon.  Stars.  Star clusters - sparkling, swirling...millions upon millions...going deeper and deeper in to space...like grains of sand, too many for the human eye or manmade telescope to count.

Power.  Incredible, unfathomable, incomprehensible power.

Just by speaking words.

I believe this.  No random, spontaneous, massive explosion brought the heavens and their heavenly bodies into existence.  It was Jesus.  Jesus created, effortlessly - with order and beauty and He holds His creation together.  He pours out the rain and snow on some areas of the earth and withholds it in other areas.  He oversees it all.  The waves rise and crash according to the boundaries He has set up.

This power, this awesome, wondrous, massive power causes the worship leader to call everyone, over all the earth, to be in awe of Jesus, and we are to stand.  Not sit.  Stand, for we should stand in the presence of Almighty God, revering, marveling, fearing, for accomplishing incredible wonders...simply by breathing words.

We need to let the power of Jesus shape our thinking today, and His lovingkindness, which fills the earth.  He is greater than everything.

Man - I surely don't know what planet you are standing on. You do realize that there are meteor impact sites that are many miles in diameter on this exact planet, right? You do realize that we will be struck again, someday - it could be any day. You do realize that it will wipe out all of us when it happens, right. You do realize that the planet is riddled with animals that will eat you alive given the right circumstances, that there are diseases which will tear you apart, parasites that will eat your brain, and any number of other such hideous things on this earth, and you think that god is all about love and compassion and kindness? This whole world is built on a foundation of killing - everything here, small or large , must kill to survive, literally - and you somehow think that god is kind and merciful?

You can observe gods behavior by looking at your environment - whole galaxies collide, billions upon billions of stars and planets die - and no-one cares. It is not evil, it is the way of the universe.

But you go ahead and keep wearing those rose crystal glasses and sipping that hooch - it appears to be working for you. There is a reason why the story you propagate sounds so much like childhood fantasy stories come to life - because that is what it is.

And every day, you discount the actual true god that created you, the one right in front of you. You keep your eyes peeled for miracles, for a sign. But the miracle is all around you, every second of every day. The power is all around you every second of every day, but you give it all up for jesus - the only thing you can't see, hear or touch, and toss everything that actually is out the window without a second glance.

Consider that the one true god, in the form of rain, makes you wet. In the form of wind moves your body, in the form of atmosphere, keeps you alive - and in one form or another is going to kill you.
The one true god is the one that actually effects you, physically, every day. It's that thing your living in - some people call it reality.
