Psalm 33:10, 11

"The LORD nullifies the counsel of the nations;

He frustrates the plans of the peoples.

The counsel of the LORD stands forever,

The plans of His heart from generation to generation."

The LORD,
Who's word is upright 

and all His work is done in faithfulness (v. 4),
Who loves righteousness and justice
and fills the earth with His lovingkindness (v. 5),

 is in control.

We aren't.

The grid-lock in Washington ("cliff chaos") is on my mind right now, with the truth from this scripture.

When we know the character of God and
when we let the truth of the sovereignty of God
over all things control and shape our thinking,
peace will reign in our hearts,
no matter what the circumstance.
